The Rolls Royce of watch making. It doesn’t get a lot better than this. This 1960 hand wound Vacheron Constantin Patrimony is in almost mint condition throughout. It sports an 18 karat gold case and gold mesh bracelet which is original to the watch and incredibly hard to come by with these models. The watch also carries full British hallmarks telling us it is 18 karat gold, London, 1960. There is also a full set of Swiss 18 karat gold hallmarks and the coded case maker’s mark of Eggly & Cie. This Geneva based concern was the most significant supplier of cases to Vacheron Constantin in the post-war golden era and the quality and weight of this housing is outstanding. Interestingly, we have only ever found Eggly cases on watches by either Vacheron Constantin, or their arch competitor Patek Philippe.

The movement of this watch really speak for itself. Look at the Geneva stripes running across the plates. Completely original movement, with no changed parts, in almost perfect condition. It’s a work of art, and an example that reminds us of why Vacheron Constantin, with Audemars Piguet and Patek-Philippe, is regarded as one of the holy trinity of wristwatch brands.
