Deposits

On some occasions, clients may wish to pay a portion of the price of one of our product, in order to remove it from sale and purchase at a later date. Furthermore, an initial deposit is required for certain services we provide, such as Watch Sourcing. Our deposit policy is outlined below:

Deposits for Watch Sourcing

When you contact us regarding the sourcing of a watch, we will begin with an initial online conversation regarding the watch/watches you are interested in sourcing, your expected lead time, budget and any other requirements you may have. We will notify you of the expected price of your requested watch/watches, lead time and any other necessary factors to consider. The terms and conditions of watch sourcing are outlined below:

  • Should you choose to proceed with a watch sourcing, we will require an up front payment of the total value of the watch once the watch has been sourced.

  • Please note that the nature of the watch market means prices can fluctuate often. We will expend our resources to find your requested watch at the quoted price, however, we cannot guarantee quoted prices and you may have to pay a different price than the initially quoted price. The price we quote remains for 7 days since the initial quote. Prices may go down as well as up.

  • When we take delivery of the requested item, we will notify you. Please note that at this point your deposit will be non-refundable.

  • Should you decide not to purchase the item after we have taken delivery, we will add the item to general sale. Your payment can still be used to pay for other goods from us, but you will be ineligible for a refund of your deposit.

  • Due to the continually changing nature of the pre-owned watch market, prices can fluctuate on a regular basis. Therefore, if the item is not purchased within 14 days of us taking delivery of your requested item, we reserve the right to update the selling price of the item to reflect the current market value. Please note that prices can go down, as well as up.

  • If the selected item has not been purchased within 14 days of the date we take delivery of your requested watch/watches, we will return the item to general sale. You will be ineligible for a refund of your deposit, however your deposit can still be used to pay for other goods from us.

  • If we are unsuccessful in sourcing your requested watch, we will refund your deposit. Please note that refunds will be paid to the original payment method.

Paying a deposit on an item in stock:

Should you wish to pay a deposit on a product currently in our online store, we require a minimum deposit of 20% of the selling price of the item. The terms and conditions of such a deposit are outlined below:

  • Upon receipt of a deposit, we will remove the selected item from general sale and retain its current selling price for a total of 7 days from the date the deposit was paid to us. Any extension of the 7 day holding time is at the discretion of Watts On Watches LTD.

  • Due to the changing nature of the pre-owned watch market, prices can fluctuate on a regular basis. Therefore, if the item is not purchased within 7 days of the deposit payment, we reserve the right to update the selling price of the item to reflect the current market value. Please note that prices can go both up and down.

  • All deposits placed on items of stock are non refundable if you decide you no longer wish to proceed with your purchase. Your deposit however can be used to purchase a different item or stock.

Condition and 12 Month Warranty Policy

  • Watts On Watches LTD specialise in the sale of vintage luxury watches. We aim to deliver fine examples of these pieces at competitive price points.

  • As stated on our website listings, all watches come with a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase.

  • All watches are sent out in good working condition however we cannot guarantee that these watches will be pristine. Vintage watches due to their age will show signs of wear and tear and may come with marks and minor scratches to the parts of the watch such as the crystal, case and bracelet.

  • We aim to not polish watches to help retain and keep their original heritage, please bare in mind that minor scratches show character and not polishing keeps the watch in more original condition. Polishing is available for all watches if the client wishes to have the watch polished, this is however at the client’s discretion and cost.

  • All watches are examined by our watchmakers prior to sale and if required will be serviced. Some watches may contain replacement parts to ensure that they can operate. All parts replaced however are genuine parts from the manufacture, we do not use aftermarket and none authorised components. This is the same if a manufacturer serviced the watch also. We do however always aim to keep the watch in as original condition as possible but to ensure watches are in good working order some components may have to be replaced.

  • We can not offer a guarantee on the condition of items such as crystals, bracelets and case scratches as these are considered wear and tear. Our Watts On Watches 12 month warranty only covers the working condition of mechanical functions. Not wear and tear. Any damage after purchase caused by wear and tear is not covered in our warranty.

  • Any warranty is void if the watch or movement is tampered with by an unauthorised party.

  • The 12 month warranty we offer is between Watts On Watches and the party that purchases the watch. If the watch is sold under warranty to a different party, the warranty is not transferable to the new owner of the watch.

Return of goods under the Distant Selling Directive

  • In accordance with the EU DSD, you are entitled to cancel your order at anytime within 7 days of purchasing your goods, if there is anything you are not happy about.

  • The cancellation period ends on the expiry of seven working days after you received the goods. This is provided we give you, the customer, the required written information about "DSD" no later than the time the goods are delivered, which we have done in this online document.
