Rolex Serial Numbers
& Production Dates
How Can I Find A Rolex Serial Number?
Determining the manufacturing date of a Rolex watch is an essential aspect of the buying and selling process. The serial number of a Rolex can be located on the case side, between the lugs, specifically behind the bracelet near the 6 o’clock position. This unique 4-8 digit number, which is etched onto every Rolex watch, allows for the identification of the watch’s production date.
In 2005, Rolex introduced a change by starting to inscribe the watch’s serial number on the rehaut, also known as the inner flange, situated between the dial and the crystal at the 6 o’clock position. From 2008 onwards, Rolex exclusively engraved the serial numbers on the rehaut
