"I'd say 'go to hell', but I never want to see you again." - Roger Sterling, Mad Men.

The Mad Men TV series will go down in history for capturing the elegance, class and debauchery of the 50’s and 60’s. It will also be remembered for the awesome watches the characters wore. This is your chance to own one of these iconic watches that was sported by Roger Sterling himself. The Tudor 'Tuxedo' Ref. 7967. While the screen-worn version was sold at auction back in 2015, this example can be had now, and for much less than the hammer price of that piece.

This particular tuxedo boasts a beautifully glossy gilt dial. A 34mm Oyster case means that it would slip easily under a cuff, the watch benefits from curved lugs make is wear much larger. While many people associate this dial with the Universal Geneve Polerouter, similar to the one we sold recently, these Tudor 'Tuxedo's' are far rarer.

On top of this watch having awesome TV heritage, this example has the benefit of coming with its original box, papers and even the receipt all the way back from 1961. An incredibly hard find with these kind of pieces! The other incredible find with this watch is the Rolex spring loaded stretch rivet bracelet. These stretch bracelets are incredibly collectable and is worth between £500 and £1000 for the bracelet alone. Another great piece of heritage for this watch! We have put the watch on a calf leather strap to insure the bracelet is kept in the best condition possible. For the watch to have all this originality, all this heritage and the benefits of it being carefully looked after for the last 60 years, this will be the perfect addition to any connoisseurs collection.
