The Tudor Oyster Prince Jumbo Date+Day Ref. 7017/0 is one of the most charismatic and desirable vintage Tudors. At 38mm, the oversized case lives up to the “Jumbo” name, giving it real wrist presence while retaining Tudor’s refined proportions.
This 1982 example features a crisp grey index dial with day, date, and centre seconds, framed by a domed bezel. It runs on the reliable Tudor-prepared A. Schild 1895 automatic calibre. As was common at the time, Tudor produced this reference with Rolex parts: the caseback is signed “ORIGINAL OYSTER CASE BY ROLEX GENEVA,” and it carries a Rolex crown and a 7836 folded link Rolex Oyster bracelet.
What makes this watch truly stand out is its provenance. It comes as a complete full set with both inner and outer Tudor boxes, guarantee papers, booklets, original Mappin & Webb sales invoice dated 21 January 1982, plus service documentation and correspondence from Rolex UK. The service record includes a Rolex UK invoice from August 1996 and further correspondence from 2004, giving this example one of the most comprehensive paper trails we’ve ever seen for the reference.
