When a watch is nicknamed the ‘Presidential’ Rolex, you know it means business. Ever since Rolex introduced the first Day-Date in 1956, it was and an instant icon. Worn and adored by many US Presidents, most famously President Johnson during his time in office, but also seen on the wrist of legends such as Michael Jordan, fictional mob boss Tony Soprano and even the Dalai Lama. When a Rolex Day-Date is seen on the wrist with it’s recognisable features such as the Presidential bracelet, Oyster case and a fluted bezel, it gives off an air of distinction. This particular Day-Date we have in the store is a perfect example of a reference 1803 Day-Date from 1977/78 and carries all the recognisable qualities one requires from a Day-Date. The Presidential bracelet is in fantastic condition and has a very minimal stretch, the Oyster case and bezel also shows little to no marks. However the talking point of this watch has to be its pedigree. Having been carefully loved for over 40 years, the watch comes with a complete set of box and papers, all the way down to the original Rolex price tag from the watches initial purchase back in 1977/78. Having a Rolex service history and having been serviced in September 2021, the watch comes with a Watts On Watches 12 month warranty.
