This Rolex Datejust Ref. 16000 dates to 1986 and is a brilliant example of why the 1980s Datejust is becoming such a strong area for collectors.
The 16000 sits in an important period for the Datejust. It still has the classic vintage proportions, clean 36mm Oyster case and traditional Datejust feel, but it also benefits from the Rolex calibre 3035 movement with quickset date. That makes it far easier to live with than earlier references while still keeping the charm of a true vintage Rolex.
