A rather unique Rolex Datejust! The dial of this Rolex Datejust often goes by the name of a porcelain dial, however it is not really made from porcelain. It looks like porcelain because of the milky-white colour and highly-gloss finish of the surface.Porcelain dials are white-lacquered dials with a transparent layer (varnish) giving it an enamel appearance. Rolex produced porcelain dials in the late 1980’s through to the early 90’s, it was made famous by the Rolex Daytona 16520 and was also used for some Datejust references. Since it's quite an expensive and extensive operation, Rolex discontinued the porcelain dials quickly.
