The Speedmaster, initially launched in 1957 as a racing watch, ascended to legendary status during the 1969 Apollo 11 mission, when it was the timepiece that accompanied Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to the Moon. Armstrong and Aldrin wore the 105.012 model, while Michael Collins donned the 145.012, solidifying the Speedmaster's place in history.

Fast-forward to 1996, OMEGA introduced the new Moonwatch, reference 3570.50.00, a close descendant of the original models worn by the Apollo 11 crew. This updated masterpiece retained the iconic design, featuring the shatterproof hesalite crystal, black dial with white accents, and the trifecta of sub-dials for 30-minute, 12-hour, and small seconds. The primary updates included the switch from tritium to Luminova for luminescence and an upgraded movement to the caliber 1861, a modern iteration of the original 861 movement, now boasting 18 jewels and rhodium plating.

This Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Chronograph 3570.50.00, in excellent pre-owned condition, remains a timeless tribute to its illustrious predecessors, encapsulating the spirit of human exploration and technical excellence.
