The 14701 collection was introduced by Omega back in 1961. But not all 14701 were made equally. The steel and plated versions of this watch make for a very handsome Seamaster model, however this model has the benefit of being the much rarer solid 18K gold model. the solid gold case has angled lugs with wonderful chamfered edges and the dial has being finished wonderfully with gold details. The screw-down case back is centred with the Omega Seamaster emblem, on the inside of the caseback you can find the 18K 750 hallmark as well as hallmarks on the lugs and the watch has a signed Omega crown. The watch is also complete with the original Omega pin buckle.
This model is powered by an automatic Omega calibre 562 movement. The calibre 562 also has provision for semi-fast date adjustment – whilst the date will change each day around midnight, it can be manually advanced when required by moving the hands backwards and forwards between 9pm and 1am.
