The Longines Spirit Chronograph Pioneer Edition is one of the most compelling modern releases from the brand in recent years and this 2024 titanium example is a complete collectors set, remaining under Longines’ 5 year manufacturer warranty.
On a personal note, the Spirit collection launched in my final year working for Longines before I went on to found Watts On Watches. Because of that, I have always had a soft spot for this line. Spirit marked a shift. It pushed Longines out of its traditional comfort zone and into a more assertive, technical and design led space. I respect it for that.
This Pioneer Edition takes that concept even further.
The 42mm case is crafted in lightweight titanium, giving the watch real wrist presence without the weight of steel. The matte black dial is contrasted by vibrant green numerals and PVD titanium hands, delivering exceptional legibility and a modern aviation aesthetic that feels purposeful rather than decorative.
The absence of a date keeps the dial balanced and clean. It feels intentional. Focused.
Inside is the Longines calibre L688.4, a COSC certified automatic chronograph movement with a silicon hairspring. Based on a column wheel architecture, this movement offers improved chronometric performance and enhanced resistance to magnetism. A Word on Condition
This watch presents in excellent overall condition, as expected from a 2024 piece. The titanium case remains sharp with only light signs of careful wear. The dial and crystal are clean and the strap remains in strong condition.
