The Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox is, in my opinion, one of the best entry points into understanding vintage watches properly.
It brings together everything that makes vintage collecting so rewarding. Mechanical ingenuity, thoughtful design and genuine craftsmanship, all without the inflated price points often seen elsewhere. It is a watch that teaches you what matters.
This Ref. E855 from 1960 is a perfect example of that philosophy.
At 37mm, the case size is ideal. Large enough to wear confidently by modern standards, yet still true to its era. The proportions are balanced, elegant and practical, making it a watch that works just as well today as it did over sixty years ago.
The condition is exceptional. The steel case remains unpolished, retaining sharp edges and the original definition that is so often lost on vintage pieces. It gives the watch a presence and integrity that immediately stands out.
The dial is clean, refined and purposeful, exactly what you want from a Memovox. Nothing excessive, nothing forced. Just pure, functional design.
Inside sits the Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 825, one of the most important movements in the Memovox lineage.
