The 2001 Rolex Explorer II white Dial 16570, a hidden undervalued gem among steel sports Rolex models. Originally crafted for spelunkers, or cave explorers, this watch is built to withstand the toughest conditions with its exceptional specifications and ultra-durability.
At the heart of this timepiece is the Automatic Rolex Cal. 3185 movement, featuring 31 jewels and beating at 28,800 beats per hour. This robust movement, fitted with a Nivarox hairspring, was in production from 1989 until 2007, when it was succeeded by the Cal. 3186.
The 40mm stainless steel case boasts crisp polished edges and brushed top surfaces, providing an impressive wrist presence with its 47mm lug-to-lug length and 11.5mm case thickness. The TwinLock screw-down crown, crafted by Rolex, includes a two-gasket seal system, while the stepped fixed bezel showcases 24-hour black markings.
Protected by a sapphire crystal, the white dial is surrounded by an outer minute track. The applied disc, batons, and triangle at 12 o’clock, all outlined in contrasting white gold, mark the hours and are lumed with SuperLumiNova. Enhancing readability, the date window at 3 o’clock features cyclops magnification. The Mercedes hands are complemented by a lollipop sweeping second hand and an arrow hand for the 24-hour function, made more visible with its striking red hand and white arrowhead.
Completing this masterpiece is the original 20mm Rolex Oyster bracelet, a signed Rolex clasp, and a flip lock. This watch comes as a complete set with inner and outer boxes, original papers, tags and booklets.
